The Mulheres do Mar Movement began on the island of Itaparica, in Barra Grande, Bahia Brazil. It aims to empower women in the community and the world, through Capoeira and Afro-Brazilian culture.

Salve, Salve the Angoleira community, the Mulheres do Mar have arrived! The movement continues and with great joy we are preparing for the 12th Mulheres do Mar Festival in 2024.

We are currently needing to raise money to make the Mulheres do Mar Festival 2024 happen, and we need your help.
In order to continue producing this festival annually, we rely heavily on the help and support of the Mulheres do Mar community and those who believe in our mission. We do not receive funding from large external bodies, and so without our community supporting through donations it is difficult for us to continue creating spaces for the voices, experiences and legacies of women in Capoeira Angola.
